Indonesia Introduces New Visa Policy For Nigerians

The Indonesian ambassador to Nigeria, Harry Purwanto, revealed on Tuesday that the Indonesian embassy in Nigeria will no longer be involved in visa processing, but only in the collection of visa applications.
Purwanto revealed this new visa policy to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos. Under the new policy, Nigerians seeking visa to Indonesia for any reason will now have to submit their visa applications to the Indonasian embassy in Nigeria from where it will be forwarded to Indonesia for processing.
This, he revealed, will result to a longer waiting period and as such he advised Nigerians to begin their applications at least two weeks in advance.
“Under the new policy, we as an Embassy in Nigeria have been withdrawn from processing visas. All we are now required to do is to collect visa applications and send them to Indonesia for processing. We now have to be taking authority from Jakarta. We, therefore, want to tell Nigerians seeking visas to Indonesia to now begin their applications at least two weeks in advance, to enable us send their applications on time to Jakarta,’’ Purwanto said.

Yaya Toure Says He Is Open To Signing A New Contract With Manchester City

It all marks a remarkable turn around for a player who found himself frozen out of the team earlier in the season following a public falling out between his coach, Pep Guardiola and agent, Dmitri Seluk. All parties involved patched things up and the Ivorian was restored to the first team.
His return has coincided with a nice run of form for City who have won every of the five matches he has started. With things going so well, the player says he is willing to commit his future to the club after his contract runs out at the end of the season.
He said:
'When I signed for City, I came to this club to make history.'
'I want this club to be bigger than Manchester United. I know it's going to be a lot of work, but that's my dream. 'I want to make something very important. I already won two Premier League titles and I want more than that, another new story. 'I have been lucky to play at big clubs – Barcelona and Olympiakos. Those teams were always used to being champions. But City, it was something different, and I am happy now. 'I think I've always been a key figure. To be honest, I belong on the field.'

Former Israeli President and convicted rapist Moshe Katsav was released from Ma’asiyahu Prison on Wednesday after the State Prosecution said it would not appeal Sunday’s parole board decision to free him. He had served five years of a seven-year jail sentence.

A smiling Katsav, flanked by his wife Gila and other supporters, appeared at the gate of the central Israel prison at around 4 p.m. Jostled by the crowd of waiting reporters, the disgraced Likud politician got into a car and drove away without speaking.

He later received a hero’s welcome in his home town of Kiryat Malachi, where cheering crowds rushed to embrace him — even knocking the blue and white large knitted kippa off his head in the excitement.

Photos Of Governor Nasir El-Rufai's Cars Destroyed By Angry Protesters

Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai's entourage was attacked by angry protesters in Kafanchan, Jema’a local government area yesterday December 20th.

The Governor and his entourage were pelted with stones and some of the vehicles broken after addressing some demonstrators immediately after he chaired Kaduna State Security Council meeting in the area.

The official residence of the local government chairman, Dr.Bege Katuka was also burnt by the protesters.

The governor’s spokesman, Samuel Aruwan, in an official statement released today, quoted the governor as saying
“In the name of God, I am begging you. No one should take the law into his or her hand over what happened in Kafanchan. Although it is unfortunate, but we must rise above induced prejudice and hatred. We must defeat hate with patience, love and dedication to duty and not eye for an eye. It is also a burden of leadership and we will, by the special grace of God, overcome these forces of darkness who are dividing our citizens using religion, ethnicity and politics. I commend the high sense of professionalism exhibited by security personnel. I listened to three of the women who led the protesters as they asked me questions. I answered them and even invited them to a larger meeting, but they went on rampage and burnt the residence of the local government chairman. The government of Kaduna State and the Security Council sympathize with the chairman of Jema’a local government, Dr.Bege Katuka and his family over the unfortunate incident that led to the burning of their home. Our prayers and support go with them.”
The governor will update the people of the state on the steps being taken to improve security in the state in a state-wide live radio interview today Wednesday night, from 8pm to 10 pm.
