Two Police Officers shot during protests outside Ferguson over killing of unarmed black teenager

copsTwo police officers were shot outside the Ferguson police department headquarters early on Thursday morning, acting Ferguson police chief Lt. Col. Al Eickhoff confirmed. Gunfire erupted during protests following the resignation of Ferguson Police Head, Thomas Jackson as angry scuffles broke out between officers and members of the public.
According to the witnesses, the two officers were struck outside the police department building and were rushed to Barnes-Jewish Hospital for treatment. A few dozen demonstrators fled following the sound with some screaming, 'They hit a cop,' around midnight, a photographer with Reuters said. After the shooting some protesters fell to the ground and others ran. A huge police presence later surrounded the department.
